Auberge Des Remparts was a delightful surprise during our journey through northern France. Centrally located in the quaint town of Peronne, it's just a hop away from the Museum of the Great War-perfect for anyone eager to dive into local history after a day of exploring or in my case, working on field notes about marine ecology connections with historical sites. Self-check-in was a breeze, with instructions that set us up for a smooth arrival. The private bathroom shower was reliable, with decent hot water pressure after a day of wandering the fortifications. The complimentary breakfast in the morning was a treat, featuring an array of pastries and fresh baguettes-which brought me a bit of home to a foreign land. We enjoyed some downtime in the cozy shared lounge, sipping local wines and admiring the charming decor. Despite a couple of minor hiccups with plumbing, the helpful staff made our stay enjoyable, so I'm packing fond memories to share with my fellow dive instructors back in the Bahamas. It's a great, no-frills spot for a short, enriching stay-especially for those who appreciate both culture and comfort!
